Don’t just follow the leader, instead, do what works for you. Come back to the bar! Against the Grain Shaving & Acne Bar offers unexpected features beyond leaving you refreshed after the perfect shave. Created with acne-prone skin in mind, it soothes and gently reduces oils that causes acne irritations in the first place.
You will easily discover a #Loveatfirstlather here!
Made with your sensitive face in mind, this bar features locally harvested rapeseed oil, vitamin-rich cocoa butter and the balancing affects of castor oil. Pure essential oils combine as snuggly blended spices. Friends, including the tea blogger, Oolong Owl, liken it to an autumn hot apple cider, bringing a multi-sensory experience to your shower or tub.
Why Rooibos for a Shaving Bar?
Rooibos ‘Tea’ (Aspalathus Linearis Leaf) originating in South Africa, contains high levels of naturally occurring eugenol, a calming antiseptic. This works effectively to leave face and body feeling soothed, cool and cared-for after a razor shave,
Don’t let the few specks of rooibos in this soap confuse you for an exfoliating bar. Rooibos leaves are tiny, soft, gentle and help maintain the warm golden tones of the soap, You won’t even notice these as they fall away into the opulent lather. Meanwhile, other exfoliating scrub bars feature in Dhana’s collection.
How Against the Grain Combats Acne:
In addition to the healing effects of eugenol, Against the Grain Shaving & Acne Bar is packed with ricinoleic acid. This active triglyceride compound makes up 95% of the composition of organic castor oil. Absorbing deep into the layers of your skin, it stops the production of excess sebum (skin oils) that block pores and create acne.
In case you haven’t noticed, we here at Dhana have a lot to say about Castor Oil. Check out our Shop by Problem section for more info. Castor Oil is such a powerful defence against acne, that it can be applied directly to skin and then rinsed off. See related products here.
For INCI please refer to packaging. Here we list ingredients in English: olive oil, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and castor oil. Infusions of rooibos tea. Blended essential oils of vanilla, cinnamon and cloves and orange.

Wow, I never thought of it as a shaving soap despite its thick lather. Thanks for the feedback Marcus!

Deliciously fragrant. Rich and lathery. The perfect soap to counteract hard water areas, to leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturised.

This soap not only smells invigorating, but it is very well presented and would be great for gift giving as it came beautifully packaged. The spicy smells remind me of preparing for the holiday season ahead, and several of my guests have mentioned how much they like it.
